Being the COMMUNIQUE issued on 5th of July 2015 following an interactive session with the Worldwide Convener of Oodua Progressive Union, Otunba Dr. Gani Abiodun Adam held under the leadership of Oodua Progressive Union United Kingdom, at Novotel Hotel Greenwich, London SE10 8 JA.
That foresight and commitment of the revered Convener OPU Worldwide and the Promoter of Olukun Festival Foundation, Convener Otunba (Dr) Gani Adams (COGA) to this cause are well appreciated.
This event solidified existence of vision, mission, objectives, strategies, tactics and know-how of Oodua Progressive Union UK.
A coordinated effort is thereby enjoined for a renew membership building with effective communication that attracts existing and prospective membership.
Knowledgable team like OPU should be in the position to educate and inform Yorubas in London, UK at large and to correct misrepresentation or misinformation.
To harness available resources to continue the promotion and support for a cause of promoting Yoruba rich cultural identities and values in diaspora.
That a resounding support must be given to efforts at Teaching of Yoruba Language to sons and daughters is paramount.
That members should be prudent, transparent and be clinical in financial responsibility.
That OPU is projected to set up a research centre with the sole aim of carrying out continous researches into the history, culture and heritage of Yoruba in Diapora.
That OPU United Kingdom and other over 51 countries chapters should strive to maintain a well established platform of interaction, connection and networking.
That all members are enjoined to be of admirable character which potray Nigeria in good light
