Emmanuel Emenike excited at West Ham signings

As Emenike arrives on loan from Turkish club Fenerbahce
West Ham have signed Fenerbahce striker Emmanuel Emenike on loan, with an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.
The Nigeria international has been on loan at Abu Dhabi club Al Ain.
"I'm very happy and very excited that I'm here," 28-year-old Emenike told the club's website.
"I have always known West Ham as a great club. I have known [manager Slaven] Bilic for years and thank God we are here together."
Bilic previously managed Besiktas, based in Istanbul, Turkey - the city rivals of Fenerbahce.West Ham United Joint-Chairman David Sullivan is thrilled to have finally secured the signing of Nigeria international Emmanuel Emenike and hopes he will bring plenty of goals to the first-team.

Mr Sullivan has worked tirelessly behind the scenes with club secretary Andrew Pincher to get the deal concluded after having to negotiate with both Fenerbahce and Al-Ain where he has been on loan in the United Arab Emirates this season.

Emenike arrived at the Boleyn Ground on Sunday and is now hoping to be a big success in the Premier League this season.

Mr Sullivan has no doubts he will bring pace and power to the Hammers attack and feels it will be another exciting addition to the squad.

He said: “I am delighted to welcome Emmanuel Emenike to the club.

“We hope he will bring goals and we have an option to sign him at the end of the season.

“Our manager knows him from Turkey & Russia and says he is a very good player. He is very fast and you can never have enough goals or pace in any team.

“It took two weeks of tortuous negotiations and hard work by myself and our club secretary Andrew Pincher to get the player to the club. It was one of the most difficult deals we have ever done as we were dealing with two clubs not one.

“I would publicly like to thank Andrew, as he really is an unsung hero of the club, for all his hard work on this transfer, all the other transfers we have done in the last few years and the dozens we tried to do and failed with.”

Emenike, who has scored nine goals in 37 international appearances, becomes the club's second signing of the January transfer window, after Leeds defender Sam Byram.
